Halloween is just around the corner, and it's the perfect time to get crafty and decorate your home with some spooky charm! If you're looking for an affordable and creative way to spruce up your living space, scrapbook paper can be your secret weapon. In this blog post, we'll show you how to use scrapbook paper to create eye-catching Halloween decorations for your walls. Whether you're throwing a Halloween party or just want to get into the festive spirit, this DIY project is sure to impress. Let's get started!

Materials You'll Need:

1. Scrapbook Paper: Choose Halloween-themed or spooky designs that suit your style.

2. Picture Frames: You can recycle old frames or purchase inexpensive ones.

3. Double-Sided Tape: To adhere the paper securely to the frames.

4. Scissors/Paper Cutter: For cutting the paper to the right size.

5. Wall Space: Find the perfect spot to showcase your Halloween-themed frames.

Step 1: Find the Perfect Wall Space with Frames to Decorate

Start by selecting the area in your home where you want to display your Halloween-themed frames. Consider spaces like your living room, hallway, or even your front entryway to welcome guests with a hauntingly stylish touch. These are frames from Ikea and measure 9x9.

Step 2: Find the Paper That Suits Your Needs

Browse through your scrapbook paper collection or visit your local craft store to find the perfect paper designs for your Halloween decorations. Look for patterns that evoke the Halloween spirit, such as bats, pumpkins, witches, ghosts, and haunted houses. If you can't find Halloween-specific paper, black and orange designs or classic autumn patterns work just as well.

Step 3: Cut the Paper Slightly Smaller Than the Opening of the Frames

Measure the dimensions of your frames and then cut your chosen scrapbook paper to fit inside. It's essential to cut the paper slightly smaller than the frame's opening to ensure it fits snugly without overlapping the edges. This step ensures a clean and polished look for your decorations. For the 9x9 opening, I cut the paper at 8.75 inches.

Step 4: Use Double-Sided Tape to Adhere the Paper to the Front of the Frames

Now comes the fun part! Apply double-sided tape to the backside of your cut scrapbook paper. Make sure to place the tape along the edges and corners to secure it firmly to the frame. Carefully align the paper with the frame opening and press it down evenly. Smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles for a clean finish. I chose to do a tiny piece on each corner.

Step 5: Hang Your Spooktacular Halloween Decorations

With your frames now beautifully adorned with Halloween-themed scrapbook paper, it's time to enjoy them anytime you walk by or see them from afar.

Don't be afraid to mix and match different designs to create a unique and festive atmosphere. So go ahead, get crafty, and let your home be the envy of the neighborhood this Halloween!
